I am The Ancestry Hunter and I am known to my friends as Kevin Wilkinson.
My background is senior management and research – I am at an age where I can bring all of that experience, organisation and knowledge to writing the Story of your family history.
I believe that there is so much more to family history than just when your ancestors lived and died.
The American poet, Linda Ellis, talked about the “Dash” – and the Dash – the life they lived between the date of birth and the date of death, is what really matters.
The Ancestry Hunter is all about bringing that Dash to life. Click here for a flavour of the detail and insight I can bring to your family history The Ancestry Hunter – Stories I’ve told
For over 20 years I have been finding the ancestors of people all over the world, I look forward to doing the same for you – examples:
- A UK man who crossed the United States in a “covered wagon” to die in a gunfight in a Seattle saloon
- The wealthy man who appropriated his investor’s money and turned up “down under” in Tasmania
- My own great grandfather used two names during Victorian times – I have no idea why as he wasn’t any sort of crook – but I still tracked him down
I also believe that the key to any relationship is Communication – you will get regular updates on my progress; or, if I’m hitting a brick wall, lack of it!
The Process
I research the lives of your ancestors – not just the when they lived – What they did, Where they lived, Who they lived with, Who their kids were and what they did and so on.
The Process
- You complete as much of the initial information as you can manage here
- I check what you’ve sent to ensure I understand it all, once it is all clear I’ll send you an invoice for the initial £30 research fee
- Once paid I do two hours of feasibility study to ensure that your ancestors can be traced to a reasonable degree
- If you like what you hear you then choose a package that suits you – they start from just £30
- Once you have chosen your Packageand we have agreed Payment Terms I will start work and send you updates on progress
Why do I offer 2 hours research?
My grandmother was born Florence Smith in the industrial West Midlands of the UK. Her father was John Smith as was her grandfather – it was like looking for a needle in a haystack!
If I can’t do a decent job I won’t ask you to commit – I want you to tell your friends how good I am, not that I wasted your time and money
